![]() A representative at FTC told me the more complaints they receive, the more likely it is that Jadoo TV will be legally investigation and possible case or law suit against them. I filled a complaint to the following agencies. Jadoo TV disabled my Jadoo 3 through over the air software update and now are forcing me for a paid upgrade to Jadoo 5. ![]() Planned obsolescence in terms of software is illegal like Apple has done and still does. There was 1 mandatory class for it an 3 or 4 others which use it. I am not sure how other engineers learn it or use it but mechanical engineers are learn to design planned failures not to shaft consumers but rather for safety reasons. You can get products that are built to last but their costs far exceed the average and you will need to perform regular maintenance and a host of other things which a regular consumer cares not for but industry would. Products are generally built to fail or have problems a little after your warranty is up. ![]() The only reason I can think is that a dryer is more likely to start a fire and or ruin clothes. For example when you buy a washer dryer combo the dryer can have double if not more of a lifespan than the washer. Although due to safety and liability some products may/will last for near ever. You do know that it is an engineers/designers job to design products to fail at a certain number of cycles such that products and companies can be profitable. ![]()
